I have made it a point to focus more on skin care this year. I am on the verge of switching to all natural products and to be quite honest, it is very hard to say goodbye to my favorites.

While I spend a lot of time researching and focusing more of what I put on my skin, it’s also important to nourish my skin from within. I’ve put together this guide of that will share what vitamins are essential for healthy, beautiful skin and how easy it is to get them in your diet.

Vitamins A, C, E, K, and B Complex are the top vitamins needed for our skin. A great amount of these vitamins that we need to get healthy skin is loaded in our fruits in and vegetables. Do you see where we are going here? Healthy eating promotes healthy looking skin and of course, a fit body! Let’s break everything down to see what each vitamin does and how we can easily consume it.

Vitamin C: A super powerful antioxidant found in abundance in, bell peppers, pineapple, strawberries, citrus fruits, broccoli and leafy greens. Research shows that different foods that contain high amounts of vitamin C can help shield your skin from harmful UV rays by increasing the effectiveness of sunscreen.

Vitamin E: We all know the power of Vitamin E when it comes to our skin. A majority of lotions and skincare products include this powerful antioxidant. Vitamin E helps repair our skin. Did you know that our body cannot make Vitamin E? That is why it is important to get enough of it through your diet. You can get a lot of Vitamin E in beets, avocado, asparagus, broccoli and kiwi fruit.

Vitamin A: Retinoids are derivative of vitamin A and will show amazing results for your skin. It will even help with treating acne. Our bodies convert beta-carotene from orange fruits and vegetables like sweet potatoes, mangoes, carrots and dark fruits and veggies like spinach and will turn into a retinoic acid.   5. This is a great post about vitamin and minerals and reasons why do we need them. I took my vitamins from the daily fruits such as oranges, watermelon, banana and grapes. The things is I can’t consume so many type of fruits in a day so may be it is wise to take up the vitamin supplement in pills form, that way I could enjoy all sort of vitamins in a small pill.

  12. This is an amazing post. I use Vitamin E oil with coconut oil every day and it did wonders on my skin. I need to eat a lot of food with Vitamin A and B. I don’t think I get that much of them
