I am not sure about you but I love when the seasons begin the progress of transitioning. Despite the up and down temperatures here in Georgia, the weather has started to warm up. Spring is one of my favorite seasons of the year. I think we all take part in some sort of spring cleaning and decluttering but how often do we hear about someone focusing on a lifestyle change when the seasons change? Not that often.
During seasonal transition periods, aside from Spring cleaning, I like to focus on my own wellness. I like to take a moment to reflect on any adjustments that need to be made in my everyday life. Practicing Performative Wellness
Yoga and meditating are two things that I am not the best at. I am making it a point to get to a yoga class once a week. Whether it is traditional yoga or hot yoga, you will find yourself to be in a relaxed state. Yoga is a physical and mental practice. You will use your breathing to help relax and get you in tune with yourself. If you are just starting out with some yoga and/or meditating, I would highly recommend by first picking up a cute yoga mat. Do you know your limits? If so, do you understand what your limits are? Sometimes we overwork ourselves without realizing it. For over two years, I have overworked my body in the gym. When my body would internally scream and tell me to take a break, I’d still forced myself to workout. My muscles would be trying to tell me something but I would ignore. Mentally, I knew I could do it but physically, I was overworking myself. This time around, I am making it a point to listen to my body. Overworking our body can lead to serious injury with long term side effects and that is something that we can certainly prevent.
Now, I turn to my Resveralife Acupuncture Mat on my off days from the gym. Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. This mat creates the illusion of acupuncture however there are no needles involved. This mat is simply a thick foam with a lot of tiny plastic “needles” that go into your skin and help to sooth the pain. While I have heard many great things about acupuncture itself, the mat is a great alternative and convenient to have and use. I really enjoy using this on my off days or even when I am very sore after a workout.
Relaxation with Aromatherapy
Relaxing is something we don’t get to do often. In this society, we especially us millennials are constantly doing something. Relaxing probably does not happen on the time but it is very essential that we take a moment to just relax and unwind. Essential oils have been a hot commodity as of late and there is literally an oil for every need out there. Having an oil diffuser is the next best thing to own to help with your relaxing techniques.
The essential oil diffuser by Reservalife is amazing and so easy to use. It is durable and lightweight. The LED light gradually transitions and gives off such a relaxing ambiance. I personally like this one however I will note that the lid of the diffuser does not lock therefore just keep in mind if you do decide to purchase this to keep this away from any potential hazards that may cause the diffuser to fall. Otherwise, for this to be my first oil diffuser, I am totally pleased. Depending on the day, I will either use peppermint oil or lavender oil and just let the oil diffuser run for a little and just relax.
