With spring right around the color, I was so eager to switch up my own style. The first thing I thought about changing was my hair color. I have had dark hair for most of my life. But, as of lately, I’ve been wanting to change my hair color. Trusting someone with my hair is something that I struggle with, so for me, I got lucky when I discovered that you can achieve professional quality color right at home with Schwarzkopf® color Ultîme at home hair color.
So, I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to permanently make a change since I’ve always had dark hair. I thought it would be fun to dye hair extensions that I own. This way I’m not committed to a look that I’m unsure of yet I am able to put my extensions in for a fun pop of color. This will also give me the dimension that I’ve been looking for. Keep in mind that dying hair extensions is the same as dying hair on your head, so you can apply these same steps if you are dying your own hair. If you are new to dying your hair or hair extensions, follow my simple tutorial below.
The Schwarzkopf® color Ultîme offers vibrant, fashion shades that give you a “true to box” color result. You will find your perfect Schwarzkopf® color Ultîme color in the hair care aisle. I picked up the Schwarzkopf® color Ultîme Hair Coloring Kit in Cocoa Red (5.28) at my local Walmart. I knew that I only wanted dimension and nothing too over the top so this was the right color for me. Please note that if you are coloring hair extensions, be sure that you are coloring high-quality human hair extensions. Also, Try Shopkick today and earn kicks!
Using an at-home hair color kit is not difficult at all. The directions that come with the kit are very detailed and easy to follow.
Be sure to detangle your extensions. I placed foil on my counter space to protect the surface. Place your detangled extensions evenly on the foil and set aside.
Open the application bottle and add the color cream into the bottle. Be sure to squeeze the whole content of the tube into the bottle. Shake the bottle vigorously until both components are mixed into a smooth cream.
I started to apply the color to the extensions and worked my way up until all of the hair was saturated. I used a hair color brush to make sure all the color was evenly distributed. Once all of the extensions were covered with hair dye, I let it sit and process for 30 minutes.
At the end of the processing time, I applied warm water to the extensions and rinsed out. I kept rinsing until the water from the hair extensions run clear.
After all of the color was out, I used the Conditioning treatment with Diamond Brilliance Serum. I wish I could use this conditioner every time I wash my own hair. The extensions were so soft to the touch. After the hair was washed and conditioned, all that was left to do was style the hair and attach my extensions to my hair.
Tah Dah! So simple right? Schwarzkopf® color Ultîme Hair Color collection has the most fashionable and vibrant hair color that defies fading for up to 9 weeks of color shine and long-lasting color. Since I don’t wear extensions every day, for me, I am guaranteed color freshness for a while.
This subtle hint of color is just what I was looking for. I am obsessed with my new look and loved how simple it was to create a pop of color that changes my look without a full commitment. If you are in the same boat as I am, I highly suggest that you check out your local Walmart and see the variety of Schwarzkopf® color Ultîme hair dyes. You might even recognize that Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars on one of the boxes. So neat right?
