Halloween Swirled Cheesecake Brownies

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips, (you can use milk chocolate)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Black food coloring
  • 8 oz block of cream cheese (must be at room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • orange food coloring

  1. Preheat your oven to 350° and prep your baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. I used a 9x9 pan.
  2. Start with your brownie mix first. In a bowl combine all of your dry ingredients (salt, flour, cocoa, and sugars)
  3. In another bowl combine all of your wet ingredients (eggs, water, vanilla extract, and oil together)
  4. Add your wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix by hand until all ingredients are combined.
  5. OPTIONAL: Add a few drops of black food coloring to turn the batter black for a more spooky effect.
  6. Set about 1/3 of a cup of mix aide, we will use this for the swirls.
  7. Pour the batter into your baking dish and set aside.
  8. For the cheesecake batter, cream the sugar, egg, vanilla, and cream cheese. Blend until the batter is smooth.
  9. Add orange food coloring. (equal parts of red and orange coloring)
  10. Pour the batter over the brownies and gently spread to make the layer even.
  11. Take your leftover brownie batter and add drops on top of the cheesecake.
  12. Use a toothpick or fork and gently swirl the brownie mixture with the cheesecake.
  13. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the batters are not wobbly.
  14. Let this cool for about an hour or so, slice and enjoy.
